I’m going to return to a more admissions-related topic today. Recently, we were asked how an applicant could choose between the MALD and the MIB programs. I asked Kristen, our MIB expert, to lay it all out. When talking with prospective students, one of the first questions we often hear is, “Which Fletcher degree is right for me?”.All MALD, MA, MIB, and PhD applicants are required to take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admissions Text (GMAT). Subject tests of the GRE are not required. The Fletcher School’s Committee on Admissions views standardized test scores as part of the applicant’s total application, but not the most important part.I've seen several threads here about essay length, and many seem to suggest that going over the word count is, within reason, not a big deal. None of these threads, though, had to do with the Fletcher School, so I'm wondering if it's okay to go over by fifty or so words on the MALD essay.
